CROSS-fit #8 Intensity vs Form

The most hated of all WODs has got to be the heavy metcon.
Lifting something really heavy but being tasked to do some metabolic conditioning at the same time. My goodness, I really do hate those. (ie. Thrusters and a 400m run OMG)
However, there're times where I question Coach, something which seems so simple..
"Coach, why aren't some of the beginners doing something heavier?"
The reply was simple.
"When you first started out, did you go heavy one bit? The focus is form."

Ever had that instance, where you so wanted something real badly but...
The answer was just simply, "not yet".
When we want a bigger challenge, a bigger cellgroup, connect group, team or organization.
We want it now! But sometimes, "not yet".
No, it isn't wrong to desire things like these, it isn't wrong to want to expand your capacity.
But there's a time and place for everything.
God knows when that may be, literally.

The focus is form, sometimes we just ain't ready for those challenges.
Cause you'll never know, going heavy too early can cause you to split your back.
Lifting something you aren't ready for is simply a recipe for an injury.
So work on your form. Work on it daily, work on it....
Notice how it's WORK. Yeah, it takes practice.
You're not gonna get better form by simply sitting there flipping channels on your tv.
It takes painstaking hours and hours of training, getting your body used to that position.

Soon enough, your 'Coach' will give you the go-ahead.
When you're ready...
Till then, don't be shy about it, get help, be the help. Work on it.
